The Yadkinville Volunteer Fire Department was formed many years ago and was comprised of a small group of volunteers. In 1957, a large downtown fire consumed several businesses and prompted several community leaders to formally organize the department and recruit members.

In 1958, the department began purchasing fire trucks and equipment, and began training the new members in fire suppression techniques. Today, the Yadkinville Volunteer Fire Department is staffed by over 50 volunteers and 3 full-time professional firefighters.

The Yadkinville Volunteer Fire Department provides all fire services for the Town of Yadkinville and unincorporated service district outside the city limits. In addition, we provide Medical First Responder services, meeting or exceeding county training protocols.
